Hello from the farm,

2019 Has Been A Pivotal Year For Nature's Gourmet Farm!!! A couple of key highlights are:

1) Completed the first on-farm USDA Poultry Processing Plant in MS. This will allow us to raise and distribute our pastured NON-GMO chicken anywhere in the USA

2) Installed feed bins to be a distribution point for Resaca Sun NON-GMO feeds. This helps our farm as well as other like minded farms with feed availability & cost

3) In 2019, 336 people have signed up on our website to be customers

We are GRATEFUL to our many loyal customers who support our farm principles with your food dollars. This allows us to grow and expand our product offerings as well as improve convenient access in your area.

PRODUCTS
- here is a brief summary of changes to better serve our customers

**Pastured Chicken is the #1 asked for product. That is why we built the USDA plant. We are no longed restricted to only 1,000 chickens per year and have plans to raise about 3,000 in 2020. Additionally, all chicken will be sold via our website vs. the reservation system used in the past. Currently we will process Dec 31 and Jan 8th and then twice monthly thereafter.

**Pastured Free-Range Eggs. Infastructure is now in place and the hens are due January 2nd to double our egg production

**Pastured Pork. I suspect inventory will be tight for March & April until the next pigs reach maturity. Overall, production will double for 2020

**Grass Finished Beef. We will be able to supply 20-25% more in 2020 from our farm.

AUTHENTICITY
- At Nature's Gourmet Farm, we are not a faceless brand. We're real people with a real farm and we know how stressful it is to find trusted food sources. This is most likely the #1 reason families buy our products. People are tired of marketing gimmicks and deceptive claims about what is in their food and how it was "actually" raised.

We believe food should be raised with transparency so you can make a confident and informed decision. We communicate our farm principles via our website, YourTube Channel and farm blog post. We not only discuss our principles, but we also show you. And, you are always welcome to visit our farm to see first hand.

Never before has it been more important than now to "Know Your Farmer".

What Would You Tell Politicians About MAHA?

What would I tell politicians about MAHA– This week Joel Salatin’s lunatic farmer musing was titled Organic Dependency. The gist of the article was about all of the organic | sustainable | regenerative | ecological farming organizations screaming that Trump’s budget cuts through the USDA will hurt their business….no more free hoop houses and such. I understand the solution may not be as simple as I make it out to be, but my number ONE position is that any law, regulation, funding, education, academic studies, etc. should be equal regardless if you farm conventionally | organic | sustainable | regenerative | or, ecological.

How We Bring Nutrient Density To Our Products

PLEASE NOTE- The market situation with eggs has softened and the $4 surcharge has been cancelled. Additionally, our new pullets have just started laying so we will soon have plenty of eggs. Many thanks for your understanding and support – we have the best customers!!! How We Bring Nutrient Density To Our Beef – Harry, a relatively new customer, picked up his first order at the Hattiesburg location March 1st. He had watched the new Joel Salatin documentary published by Angel Studios and was fascinated. Frankly, I think it is the best documentary of Polyface Farm I have seen as it filled in blanks from before Joel first started farming till now and HOW regenerative farming completely changed a once very degraded farm. Learn more here. Then, Harry visited me March 28th.

Cows & Pigs

Brand New Services– About six weeks ago Dixie Electric Power installed a brand new electric line with poles down my road. They replaced the old copper lines with aluminum and the poles are much better quality and taller. I asked the district manager when was the old copper line installed and he said since electric service was available for us… so, maybe since the mid 1940’s? Then, this week our complete road was blacktopped!!! If you have visited our farm you know it was long overdue. For years it has been patched to the point where the patches had patches. Hahaha
