Customer Shared Recipe's It is hard to believe this is the last newsletter for 2025! Where has the year gone.... One of our very long-time customers on our Hattiesburg pickup shared a dish she made recently using our Beef Short Ribs. Barbara's inspiration moved me to contact our friends at Laurel Urban Farms that we introduced in our newsletter to gather some of their favorite dishes made with our products as well as their sauces. ![]()
1 pound Nature’s Gourmet ground beef 1 yellow onion diced 1 cup sweet pepper 1 hot chile or your choice deseeded sweet peppers (optional) 2 cloves garlic diced 3 Tablespoons Laurel Urban Farms Haba Lava hot sauce 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 Nature’s Gourmet eggs per person Brown 1 pound package of Nature’s Gourmet ground beef in a skillet. Drain grease as needed. In a separate skillet add two tablespoons of olive oil and cook 1 yellow onion that has been finely diced. Also add two chopped garlic gloves and any peppers. Once onion is cooked add to the beef mixture, add three tablespoons of Laurel Urban Farms Haba Lava and blend together. Serve with two Nature’s Gourmet eggs with a healthy amount of Haba Lava. Consider a bright herbed slaw or sliced avocado as sides. ![]()
Frittata (a crustless, Italian egg-based dish similar to a quiche or open-faced omelet, made with eggs, cheese, meats, and vegetables, cooked slowly on the stovetop and often finished in the oven. Frittata can be served for any meal from breakfast to dinner. 1 diced large yellow onion 3 tablespoons of Laurel Urban Farms Inca’s Gold hot sauce 1 package Nature’s Gourmet pork bacon 1/2 pound Nature Gourmet beef bacon burger 3 tablespoons sour cream 2-3 finely diced cloves of garlic 1 cup shredded cheese plus 1/4 cup for top Fresh chopped oregano & basil to taste 1 bell pepper chopped red or yellow 1/4 cup milk or cream 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Cook bacon and ground beef. Let the meats cool and cut up the bacon into smaller pieces. Put eggs into a large bowl and whisk until smooth. Add all other ingredients into the eggs and mix so everything is well distributed. Grease or butter the glass dish to prevent sticking. Add egg mixture to a glass Pyrex large enough to accommodate the mixture. Sprinkle extra herbs and some cheese over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. When done you should be able to stick a knife in and pull it out with no wetness. ![]()
