Faithful Customers- September we completed eight years selling our product via our website and making deliveries. From 2010 till 2016 we only sold whole or half beef & pork and chicken.

Thursday a customer placed their order. The order number was 20,000 (that is twenty thousand). WOW! Now, that does not mean we have actually filled 20,000 orders because when someone deletes, cancels or leaves an open cart the number is not reused. But, those are exceptions as most of those 20,000 orders are filled.

Additionally, this weekend will be our largest volume delivery ever with just over 3,100 pounds delivered to customers on Saturday.
Never in my life would Beth or I have imagined our farm would grow into meeting the needs of so many families with clean, nutrient-dense beef, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb, and eggs.

We appreciate your business, encouragement, and your many kind words. Thank you!

FREE Raw Milk- Currently the most asked for product from customers is raw milk.

Did you know that the nutrients “Active” in raw human milk is also “Active” in raw cow’s milk? Active means easily digestible, and not destroyed or changed from processing. Our bodies thrive most on active, unprocessed nutrients because it is natural and truly organic.

In pasteurized cow milk, the nutrients are either inhibited, destroyed or inactive because of the processing. Almond and soy milk are no better. See this chart a customer shared with me:

A natural question would be – how did we get to raw milk being illegal? Well, books have been written on this subject and I am not an expert. It started over 100 years ago with dairies located inside the city limits (NYC) in confinement pens.

If you have ever traveled west Texas where the massive feedlots are located you would understand the issues. The cows were not on pasture (where God created them to be) but confined most likely on concrete floors with all food, water, etc. brought to them. Then, there is the waste management that generates all kinds of health concerns and sanitation issues. You get the picture!

But then, why is raw milk currently LEGAL in 28 states? But, not legal in Mississippi? Wouldn’t you think Mississippi’s rural communities could benefit a lot from small dairy farms? What about the health of Mississippi citizens? Why would our state-elected officials NOT be interested in expanding small farms in Mississippi?

Louisiana changed their raw milk law effective August 1, 2024!

Today, our food security is in the hands of a very few BUT VERY LARGE corporations. When (not if) one of them stumbles, it affects millions of people. However, when a small farmer stumbles it only affects a few families and another small farmer(s) down the road can pick up the slack.

It’s time to level the field so to speak. What Sec. Butz told farmers back in 1974 to “Get Big OR Get Out” has been a failure.

There is a small handful of us talking about this issue now. One of the keys to change is consumer support. So, my question to you:

  1. 1. Is raw milk something you would be interested in for your family?
  2. 2. Would you like to receive communications about what we are doing and how you can help effect change?

Yes, there are other products like chicken where our Ag. Department has a regulation limiting small farms to only 1000 per year vs. the Federal and State Law authorizes 20,000 chickens per year. I don’t understand how they can break state law!!!

But, raw milk is a good place to start. How about you?

Update: Raw Milk | Wintering Our Chickens

Raw Milk – So, work has been done that will help our efforts be successful when trying to influence politicians to support Food Freedom, i.e. where small farms can raise and sell into commerce and consumers have the freedom to choose who they buy from. Last week I had an hour conversation with the Director of the TX based Farm & Ranch Freedom Alliance. They were helpful in Louisiana changing their laws to support raw milk. It was very clear that it requires knowing the current law(s) and what the end game needs to be. And, sometimes change comes by winning a battle at a time to accomplish the final solution.

Beef & Egg Pricing Updates

Beef Pricing – I wanted to take a moment to highlight my research on what the beef market is doing and what 2025 pricing could look like. First, Live Cattle Futures have been trading in a very tight horizontal range for at least the past two months with the upper limit in the $191.50 per pound area. December 31st price broke out ABOVE the prior top, came down and retested the breakout level, and then by January 3rd hit a new high just over $196 per pound live weight.

NEW Ocean Springs Pickup Location | Bacon, Bacon, Bacon

"NEW" Ocean Springs Pickup Location – During our December delivery a representative of the property owner stopped to say we could no longer use their location to meet customers. I queried our December customers and received several suggestions. The recommendation we decided on was the Park & Ride lot located in the SW intersection of I-10 and Hwy 609 (Washington Ave.). This is next door to Denny's. Here is a link to the updated details including a map showing where to meet us beginning January 4th. In many ways this location is much better than the Ace parking lot. I know for us it will be nice not to have the traffic on Hwy 90 especially when there are events scheduled in downtown OS.
